Mobile Banking Privacy Policy

State Bank of Cold Spring is committed to safeguarding your privacy and the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and disclose your data when you use our mobile banking app through Google Play. By using our app, you consent to the practices described in this policy.  

Camera and Images – The SBCS Mobile Banking app may request access to your device’s camera and images. Access to your camera and images allows us to offer you a personalized banking experience by allowing you to capture images of checks for deposit, documents, and other relevant information to assist us in managing your financial documents.

Location Information – If you use our mobile banking application on your mobile device, we may collect and process information about your actual location. We use this opt-in data to provide messaging, even when the app is not open on our screen, to tailor our products and services for you, and to occasionally offer you promotions of interest. You can enable or disable access to this information at any time, through your device settings.

You have the right to grant or revoke access to your camera, images, and location information at any time through your device’s settings.  Please keep in mind that revoking access to these features may limit the functionality of our app.

To request app account deletion and associated data deletion for the SBCS Mobile Banking App please contact us at (320)685-8655.  State Bank of Cold Spring’s third-party service provider archives user data deleted from the system to facilitate account recovery. The archived user data includes information that links the user to their bank account(s) and their personalized settings.  They will retain this archived data indefinitely for the duration of our business relationship with them, after which time it is permanently deleted.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or applicable laws. Updates will be posted to our website and within our app. Please review this policy periodically to stay up to date on how we handle your data.

Fraud Awareness

State Bank of Cold Spring will never send you an email, call or text asking to verify, update or confirm your bank account information. If you do receive such a request, do not respond. Please contact us immediately at (320)685-8655.

  • Do NOT give out your personal or account information.
  • Do NOT use the save password option on your computer.
  • Set strong passwords and change them often.
  • Do NOT use a Username and Password that is obvious. Avoid the use of any part of your name, birthdays, children's names, etc.
  • Set up account alerts via text or email via Online Banking.
  • Email is not a secure communication device. Do not send personal information such as account numbers, Social Security Number, or passwords by email.
  • Review your account information often and report anything unusual.
  • Keep your computers and mobile devices up to date. Having the latest security software, web browser, and operating system are the best defenses against on line threats.
  • Do not click on links or open any attachments or pop-up screens from sources you are not familiar with.
  • Block unwanted calls and text messages.
  • Offers or opportunities that are too good to be true.
  • Unsolicited remote access requests from unknown individuals or companies to your computer or devices.
  • Sudden or unusual account activity.
  • Phishing scams - they use fraudulent emails and websites to trick users into disclosing private account or login information.
  • Scammers pretend to be from an organization you know.
  • Scammers pressure you to act immediately.
  • Scammers tell you to pay in a specific way.
